Making international calls with Talk360 is easy when the number is entered in the correct format.
Incorrect number formatting is the most common reason calls fail, so following the steps below usually fixes the issue instantly.
This guide explains:
How to dial international and landline numbers
When exit codes are needed
The most common formatting mistakes
Call costs for the person you’re calling
Premium and service number limitations
IVR (keypad) calling basics
What to do if a number blocks you
How to Make an Outgoing Call with Talk360
To place a call, you need:
Sufficient Talk360 call credits
A stable internet connection (Wi-Fi or mobile data)
You can call in two ways:
Select a contact from your phonebook (synced automatically)
Manually enter the number using the keypad
💡 Important:
If you’re calling internationally, always double-check that the number is saved in international format. Many call issues happen because contacts are saved in local format.
Correct International Dialing Format (Start Here)
To make an international or landline call with Talk360, the phone number must be entered in international format.
You can start the number with either + or 00 — Both are correct.
Most smartphones automatically recognize +, which is why it’s usually recommended.
✅ Correct format
+ OR 00 + Country Code + Area/City Code + Phone Number
Examples (not real numbers)
UK:
+44 1632 960950or0044 1632 960950China:
+86 13764131556or0086 13764131556
Important rules
Start the number with
+or00Always include the country code
Remove any leading 0 from the local number
Do not use spaces, dashes, or special characters
Save numbers in your contacts exactly in this format
💡 Tip
If a call doesn’t connect:
Try first with
+If that fails, try again using
00
Using Country Codes Correctly
Every country has a unique country code. When dialing internationally:
Example (not real)
Local number:
07123456789
International format:
+44 7123456789
✔️ The leading 0 is removed
✔️ The country code is added
✔️ The + replaces international prefixes
Exit Codes: When Are They Needed?
An exit code is used in some countries instead of +, but it is not always required.
Common exit codes
00 → many European countries
011 → United States & Canada
Recommended connection test (important)
If your call doesn’t connect:
First, try without an exit code
+CountryCode PhoneNumber
If it fails, try again with an exit code
ExitCode CountryCode PhoneNumber
Example (not real)
+49 301234567
If needed, try:
00 49 301234567
💡 Most smartphones automatically recognize the +, so exit codes are often unnecessary.
☎️ How Do I Call a Landline Number?
Calling a landline works the same way as calling a mobile number.
Make sure to:
Add the country code
Include the area or city code
Remove any leading 0
Example landline format (not a real number)
+31 20 1234567
Incorrect Number Formatting (Most Common Issue)
Incorrect number formatting is the most common reason international calls fail.
This often happens when users are abroad, and the recipient’s number is saved in local format instead of international format. Many contacts are saved without a country code, which works locally, but fails when calling from another country.
Very common situations
The number is saved without the country code
The number still starts with a leading 0
The contact was saved while you were living in the same country
You forgot to update the contact after traveling
You dialed the number manually in local format instead of international format
How to fix it (usually instant)
In most cases, the issue is resolved immediately by:
Adding the correct country code
Removing the leading 0
Retyping the number using +CountryCodePhoneNumber
Updating the number in your phone’s contact list
💡 Tip: Make sure the phone number is saved correctly in your device’s contacts using the international format. This avoids repeated call failures in the future.
Example (not a real number)
Local contact saved as:
07123456789
Correct international format:
+44 7123456789
Once the contact is saved in international format, you can call it successfully from any country.
👉 In most cases, you don’t need to contact Support once the number format is corrected.
Are There Any Costs for the Person I’m Calling?
Usually, no.
If the person you’re calling is in the same country as their phone number → no extra cost for them
If they are traveling abroad, roaming charges may apply, depending on their mobile provider and plan
📌 This depends entirely on their carrier, not Talk360.
Good to know
The person you call does NOT need the Talk360 app
Your call arrives as a normal phone call
Your registered phone number is shown (unless hidden or restricted)
💡 Tip: Check Call Rates Before Calling
To check rates:
Go to Contacts
Tap the contact
View the rate per minute below the number
Calling Premium, Service, or High-Cost Numbers
Some phone numbers have much higher calling costs than regular mobile or landline numbers. These include:
Premium numbers
Service numbers
High-cost destination numbers
What has changed recently?
We’ve updated our routing and pricing options so that some premium or high-cost numbers can now be called, depending on the recipient’s carrier.
Instead of using one fixed rate, we may:
Offer alternative routing
Apply a different price based on the destination carrier
Use a rate that is lower than the standard cost of that number
Why do prices differ for these numbers?
Not all numbers within the same country cost the same to call.
For example:
Calling a standard London landline may be low-cost
Calling a specific London service or premium number can be much more expensive
In these cases, the standard UK rate may not apply
To avoid unexpected costs:
We may offer a special rate
Or temporarily block the number if no safe pricing is available
This ensures transparency and protects users from extremely high charges.
Important to know
Availability depends on the recipient’s carrier
Not all premium or service numbers are supported yet
Pricing may be higher than standard destination rates
Rates are always shown before you call
Not sure if a number is supported?
If you’re unsure whether a specific number:
Can be called, or
Has a special rate
👉 Contact Support via the app and share the number.
We’ll gladly check it for you.
I Want to Call a Number That Blocks Me
Why can't blocked numbers be reached
When someone blocks your number, they are exercising their right to privacy.
This block can be set:
Directly on the recipient’s phone
Through their mobile carrier
Automatically for unknown, private, or international numbers
By business systems that reject certain call types
Once a block is in place:
Calls may fail immediately
Calls may go straight to voicemail
Calls may never ring on the recipient’s phone
What Talk360 cannot do
We cannot remove or override a block
We cannot change the recipient’s phone or carrier settings
We cannot force a call through
We cannot provide alternative routing to bypass a block
These limitations apply to all calling services, not just Talk360.
Privacy & legal considerations (Very Important)
Blocking exists to protect people’s privacy, safety, and personal choice.
Attempting to bypass a block:
Violates the recipient’s explicit consent
May breach local privacy or telecom laws
Can lead to legal consequences, depending on the country
May result in account restrictions or suspension
For these reasons, Talk360 does not support or allow any attempt to bypass call blocks.
Common misunderstanding
“Can Talk360 change the recipient’s settings so I can call them?”
No.
Blocking decisions are made entirely by the recipient or their carrier, and must be respected.
What you can do instead
Reach out through another consented communication channel (if appropriate)
Ask the recipient to remove the block themselves
Double-check that:
The number is saved in the correct international format
You are not being blocked automatically as an unknown or international caller
Calling a Company with an IVR System
Some companies use an IVR (Interactive Voice Response) system.
This is an automated phone menu that answers your call and helps route you to the correct department without speaking to a person right away.
What this means for you as a caller
When you call a company with an IVR system, you may hear:
“Press 1 for Sales”
“Press 2 for Support”
“Press 3 for Billing”
Or voice instructions asking you to say your choice
These menus allow the company to:
Handle high call volumes
Route calls efficiently
Offer self-service options (like checking balances or opening hours)
How IVR systems work
1️⃣ You place a call
2️⃣ The IVR answers with a menu of options
3️⃣ You respond using:
Your phone’s keypad (DTMF tones), or
Voice commands (if supported)
4️⃣ The system routes your call to the correct department or agent
Important to know
IVR menus are fully controlled by the company you’re calling
Talk360 only connects the call
We cannot change, fix, or override how a company’s IVR menu works
Troubleshooting IVR Calls
If keypad input doesn’t work:
1️⃣ Call another company with an IVR
If it works → the first company’s IVR is misconfigured
If it fails → the issue may be with your setup or network
2️⃣ Make sure:
Your call is connected
You’re using the on-screen keypad
Your internet connection is stable
Talk360 cannot fix a company’s IVR configuration; it is managed by the company itself.
If Your Call Still Doesn’t Connect
Before contacting Support, please confirm:
The country code is correct
No extra digits were added
You tested with and without an exit code
The destination supports international calling
The number is not blocking you
