How Do I Dial an International Number with Talk360?

This article explains how to correctly dial international mobile and landline numbers using the proper format.

Updated over a week ago

Incorrect number formatting is the #1 reason international calls fail.

Start Here (Most Important)

Always dial numbers in full international format:

+CountryCodeAreaCodeNumber

✔ Start with + (recommended)
✔ Include the country code
✔ Include the area/city code (for landlines)
✔ Remove the leading 0
✔ Do not use spaces or symbols when saving contacts

📌 Use only one international prefix.
Do not combine + and 00.

Correct International Dialing Format

Use one international access code:

  • + (recommended), or

  • 00

Then dial:

CountryCode + Area/CityCode (if required) + PhoneNumber

Example (not a real number)

Local format (works only inside the country):

07123456789

Correct international format:

+447123456789

What changed:

  • The leading 0 was removed

  • The country code 44 was added

  • The number begins with +

💡 Always save numbers exactly like this in your phone.

Local Number vs International Format

A number saved in local format may work inside one country:

07123456789

But fail when calling internationally.

It must be saved as:

+447123456789

If your contacts are not saved in full international format, calls are likely to fail.

If the Number Is Saved in Your Contacts

Talk360 dials the number exactly as it is saved in your phone.

If the saved number:

  • Starts with 0

  • Is missing the country code

  • Is saved in local format

The call may not connect internationally.

To fix it:

1️⃣ Open your phone’s Contacts app
2️⃣ Edit the number
3️⃣ Replace it with the full international format (example: +447123456789)
4️⃣ Save the contact
5️⃣ Reopen Talk360 and try again

If the number already starts with +CountryCode, no change is needed.

☎ Calling Landlines

Landlines use the same international format as mobile numbers.

You must include:

  • Country code

  • Area/city code

  • Landline number

Example (not real):

Local Dutch landline:

0201234567

Correct format:

+31201234567

If a landline call fails, the area/city code is usually missing.

Most Common Formatting Mistakes

❌ Missing country code
❌ Keeping the leading 0
❌ Missing area code (landlines)
❌ Saving numbers only in local format
❌ Combining + and 00
❌ Using spaces, brackets, or symbols

When This Is Working

After dialing a correctly formatted number:

  • The call should start ringing after a few seconds

  • The call connects when the person answers

  • Or you may hear their voicemail

If you hear ringing, your number format is correct.

Key Takeaway

International calls only work when numbers are saved and dialed in full international format.

Always use:

+CountryCodeAreaCodeNumber

Most call failures are resolved instantly by correcting the number format.
