Experiencing Echo During a Call
Updated this week

An echo during a call usually happens when sound from the speaker is picked up by the microphone. If your contact hears their own voice, the issue is likely on your end.

How to Fix It:

1. Check Speakerphone or Loud Volume

If the person you're calling is using speakerphone, your voice may be picked up by their microphone, causing an echo. Ask them to lower their speaker volume or use a headset.

2. Test Your Headset or Microphone

Faulty or poorly connected headsets can cause echo. Try unplugging and reconnecting your headset or switching to a different one. If using a Bluetooth or wired headset, test the call without it.

3. Make a Test Call

Call another person to check if the echo happens in all calls or only with a specific contact. If it's only with one person, the issue may be on their end.

4. Check Your Internet Connection

A weak or unstable internet connection can cause audio delays, making it sound like an echo.

  • Use a stable Wi-Fi or mobile data connection.

  • Switch networks (Wi-Fi → Mobile Data or vice versa).

  • Restart your router or move closer to it.

5. Restart Your App or Device

Too many background apps can interfere with call quality.

  • Close and reopen the VoIP app.

  • Restart your device.

  • Check for app updates.

6. Check If the Issue Is on the Other Person’s End

If the echo only happens when speaking to a specific contact, ask them to follow these troubleshooting steps as well.

If the issue continues, please contact our support team for further assistance.
