Why Can’t I Reach Someone Who Blocked Me?

Explains why calls to blocked numbers fail, how blocking works, and why blocks cannot be overridden.

Updated this week

Why Calls to Blocked Numbers Fail

If you can’t reach someone, it’s possible that your call is being blocked by the recipient or their network.

Blocking can be set:

  • Directly on the recipient’s phone

  • By the recipient’s mobile carrier

  • Automatically for unknown, hidden, or international numbers

  • By business systems that filter incoming calls

What Happens When You’re Blocked

When a block is in place, you may notice that:

  • The call fails immediately

  • The call goes straight to voicemail

  • The phone never rings on the recipient’s side

This behavior depends on how the block is configured.

What Talk360 Cannot Do

For privacy and legal reasons, Talk360 cannot:

  • Remove or bypass call blocks

  • Change the recipient’s phone or carrier settings

  • Force a call through alternative routes

These limitations apply to all calling services, not just Talk360.

Privacy and Legal Limits (Important)

Blocking exists to protect a person’s privacy and right to choose who can contact them.

Attempting to bypass a block:

  • Is not supported

  • May violate local privacy or telecom laws

Attempting to bypass call blocks may violate privacy or telecom laws and is not supported; for this reason, Talk360 does not allow or assist with bypassing blocked calls.

What You Can Do Instead

  • Ask the recipient to remove the block on their side, if appropriate

  • Use another consented communication method

  • Make sure your number is saved correctly in international format

  • If you’re using Android, disable Anonymous Calling, as hidden caller IDs are often blocked automatically
