If the rate in the app, or the amount charged for a call, is higher than the rate you saw on our website, this is usually not a mistake. The website shows a "from" price. The app shows your exact rate.
What the website shows
The rate on our website is a "from" price. It's the lowest rate for that destination. The website can't see your own phone number, so it can't show the exact rate that applies to you.
Why your rate in the app can be higher
Your exact rate depends on three things.
1. The country you call. Every country has its own rates.
2. The country code of your own Talk360 number. Your rate also depends on the country code of the phone number you registered with Talk360 (for example +1 for the US or +233 for Ghana). It does not depend on where you are right now, or on the language of your app.
For example, when calling a UK mobile number from a USD account:
A number starting with +1 (US) pays $0.15 per minute.
A number starting with +233 (Ghana) pays $3.31 per minute.
This is also why a friend can pay a different price than you for the same number.
3. The mobile operator or number type. In some countries, the rate also depends on the operator you call. This applies to Kenya, Ethiopia, Zimbabwe, South Africa and the UK. For example, in Zimbabwe, a call to an Econet number can cost a different amount than a call to a NetOne number.
For some destinations, like UK landlines, the rate depends on the number you call from. Different mobile networks charge different amounts to connect these calls, so the rate can differ from one network to another.
Why your rate can change over time
The companies that connect our calls update their prices from time to time. Sometimes they move a country code into a different price group. When this happens, your rate can go up, even though nothing changed on your side.
How to see your exact rate
Open the Talk360 app.
Go to Contacts or the Keypad.
Choose or enter the number you want to call.
Your rate per minute appears before you call. This is the rate that applies to you.
If you think you were charged the wrong rate
Contact us in the app or at [email protected]. Tell us the number you called, and the date and time of the call. We'll check it for you.
