Why Did My Call Reach the Wrong Person?

This article explains rare situations where a call connects to a different person than intended and what to do first.

Updated this week

When This Can Happen

In rare cases, a call may connect to someone else instead of the person you intended to reach.
This is known as a cross-connection and usually happens outside of the app.

Why This Can Happen

Cross-connections are typically caused by:

  • Telecom routing issues between carriers

  • Number reassignment, where a carrier has recycled or reassigned a phone number

  • Cached or outdated number information in telecom networks

These issues are usually on the carrier or network side, not within Talk360.

What You Should Do First

1️⃣ Manually dial the number using the full international format

2️⃣ Check your saved contact

  • If manual dialing works, update the contact

  • Save the number only in international format

  • If possible, test the same number using your regular mobile carrier. If the issue also occurs there, it confirms a carrier‑side routing problem.

Important to Know

  • Cross-connections are very rare

  • Talk360 cannot control carrier number recycling or routing decisions

  • Your call credits are not deducted for failed or misrouted calls
