Why Can’t I Hear the Other Person During a Call?

This article helps you fix one-way or no-audio issues when a call is connected but you can’t hear the other person (or they can’t hear you).

Updated over a week ago

When This Happens

This issue occurs when the call is connected, but:

  • You can’t hear the other person, or

  • The other person can’t hear you, or

  • Both sides are silent

Audio issues like this are often device-related.

Most Common Causes

  • Headsets or Bluetooth devices interfering with audio

  • Microphone or speaker permissions not granted

  • Background apps using the microphone or audio

  • Weak or unstable internet connection

What You Can Check and Try

Follow these steps in order:

1️⃣ Disconnect headsets and Bluetooth
Use your phone’s built-in speaker and microphone.

2️⃣ Check app permissions
Make sure Talk360 has access to the microphone and audio.

3️⃣ Close background apps
Other apps may be using the microphone.

4️⃣ Check your internet connection
Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data if needed.

5️⃣ Restart the app
If needed, restart your phone as well.

Test to Isolate the Issue

Call another contact:

  • If audio works, the issue is likely recipient-specific

  • If audio fails with everyone, the issue is likely on your device or network

Important to Know

  • Most one-way or no-audio issues are local device or network issues

  • These issues usually do not require escalation

  • Talk360 cannot control audio settings on your device
